THE LAST HERD – – Summer – Kew Gardens – Moving trees for Capability Brown 300


Kew Gardens, and to mark the 300th anniversary of Capability Brown, the team (Edward and Tom, with Tom and Heath), assist with a demonstration of a tree transporter.

From the exhibition and book, “The Last Herd” London’s last working herd of shire horses.  This is a framed A2 (420 x 594, 16.5 x 23.4 in), is supplied mounted and framed in an A1 (594mmx 841 mm 23.4x 33.1)frame.  A limited edition of 10 signed, numbered and authenticated prints.  The giclée prints are on acid free archival cold pressed watercolour paper and are produced with ULTRA chrome  archival pigment inks.


The Last Herd is a book and exhibition by multi award winning photographer Paul Stewart, about the the last working herd of Shire Horses in London, .  In 1900 there were 40,000 shires in London alone and a million in the UK, now London’s last herd is the eight of The Royal Parks Shires. The Last Herd will show a working season with these magnificent animals, as under the expert stewardship of the charity Operation Centaur,  they work with tourists, royalty, look after the agricultural work of parks and historic palaces and help with psychotherapy.

With all sales of The Last Herd items, 20 percent of all profits will go directly to conservation work with Shires, in the Royal Parks and Historic Royal Palaces.
